Operating Systems for Scale

Module II — High-Performance Teams & Execution

You can build a great team with charisma. You can only sustain one with systems.

A 2-day intensive on the operating architecture that turns talented teams into durable performance — through pressure, scale transitions, and turnover.

Part of the Vietnam Executive Leadership Program · Available standalone

What this module covers

Most Vietnamese enterprises hit the same wall around 100–300 people. The team that built the company can't be managed the way the founding team was managed. Charisma stops scaling. Hands-on leadership becomes a bottleneck. The leader has to install systems they've never built before.

This module is for that transition. It treats team performance as an engineering problem, not a personality problem.

What you'll take away

Practical architecture for the operating systems that sustain senior team performance: how to design accountability without micromanagement, how to align incentives without creating internal competition, how to install operating cadence that survives leadership turnover, and how to run senior teams under sustained uncertainty.

Specifically:

  • Team dynamics and conflict under pressure

  • Incentive design and alignment systems

  • Accountability architecture beyond the founder

  • Operating cadence: meetings, reviews, decision rights

I deeply appreciated Prof. Markus Baer’s session on "Leading Teams Through Uncertainties” in both the form and content. A very well structure intervention with a mix of essential teams rules reminder (related to set-up and management), thoughtful examples to illustrate the key points, and practical frameworks to apply when leading a team.

The session helped me reflect upon the evolution and status of my team, and of each team members, and to take concrete actions to reinforce the team dynamics.
